I hope that you are doing well under the circumstances!
Purim 2021 marks a full year on the Jewish calendar since the Covid lockdowns began and life as we know it was upended. This year, we had to use out-of-the-box thinking to come up with Purim Celebration ideas. Take advantage of these options we have available to make your Purim safe, and joyous.
The festival, which celebrates one of those famous moments when the Jewish people were saved from annihilation, begins on Thursday evening, February 25th and continues all day Friday, which leads us naturally right into Shabbat.
Here are four important activities we try to do on Purim:
1) Listen to the Megillah reading. 2) Give to the needy. 3) Send food portions to friends. 4) Eat, drink and be merry.
*Purim on the Go
For the Megillah reading, we have two options:
Keeping with Covid safety, we would like to bring the option of Megillah to you! Individual arrangements can be made where proper Covid precautions are taken. We can read the Megillah for you at or in your home or office.
There is also an option of Reserving a spot in our “Drive-in Megillah Reading”. Limited spots available.
Please email us at info@chabadspringfield.com and we will contact you to set up a time.
*A Taste of ‘Purim in France’
‘Purim in France’-themed packages including French bread, wine (or grape juice, for those who prefer), and assorted cheeses, to be delivered right to your door (or curb) so you can partake in the festival of Purim from the comfort of your home.
Available for pickup or drop off on Friday, Feb. 26. Orders must be placed by Tuesday, Feb. 23.
Don't forget to give charity to the needy and send a food package to a friend. If you would like us to help out with any of these, just let us know.
Looking forward to celebrating this joyous holiday together!
