We Did It - Thank You!

After over a year of reaching out to the Springfield community in every way we can, trying to make Judaism more accessible, fun and attractive, we now need your help to continue on.

Today YOU have the power to help us reach the next level. Three generous matchers will match your donation over the course of a 24 hour period. This means, every dollar raised is worth $4, $10 is worth $40, $100 is worth $400 etc.

Partner with us to help augment and further develop the Jewish programming in Springfield and its surrounding areas, as well as make contact with even more unaffiliated Jews in the area.

Our activities include: Shabbat meals, meaningful classes/study partners, house visitation, holiday celebrations, and prayers.

Every penny you donate is QUADRUPLED! For every dollar you give, Chabad of Springfield will get four dollars. Every dollar will be matched by our three generous benefactors, to help us reach our goal of $50,000.

Remember: The campaign is ALL OR NOTHING – we must raise the full amount within 24 hours, or all donations will be returned.

Your support will allow us to ENSURE that we can reach every Jew - One Jew at a Time.

Chabad Jewish Center of Springfield is committed to the themes on which the Chabad movement is based: a love for G-d, a love for Torah, and a love for the Jewish people.

Chabad welcomes every Jew into an inviting and non-judgmental environment in which to experience our heritage. Chabad brings a warmth and joy to Judaism.

Rabbi Mendy and his wife Sara Turen, serve as the directors of the Chabad Jewish Center of Springfield, IL.

Rabbi Turen grew up in Chicago. His parents, Rabbi Eli and Tsyrl Turen are serving the Jewish community of Chicago. His father serves as a Rabbi of a local synagogue, and his mother is principal of a Jewish girls high school.

The rabbi studied at a large Jewish school in a suburb of Paris for four years, and then went on to study in Israel for two years. After graduating, he served as a teacher in a Jewish high school in Cincinnati, OH.

He also studied at the Central Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Brooklyn and continued his postgraduate studies at the Kollel Institute in Brooklyn. He received his rabbinical ordination in 2014.

Sara Turen, was born in Boulder, CO. Her parents, Rabbi Pesach and Chany Scheiner serve as the directors of Chabad of Boulder for over twenty years.

Sara studied during her high school years in Chicago, and then went on to study in Israel for a year. She then continued her studies in New York, where she received a degree in education. Sara continued on to direct a Jewish Hebrew School and to teach at Beis Rivkah elementary school in Brooklyn.
