Wow! Just wow! The history that was made on the last night of Chanukah, this year in Springfield, was unbelievable! For the first time ever, the Capital of Illinois was lit up with a Grand Car Menorah Parade.
With twenty vehicles joining together for this remarkable event, no one was left unimpressed. Police led the parade, making sure the drive was smooth, without any extra stops at red lights or other vehicles disturbing.
The Parade went through the city, on many of the main run roads across town. It also passed by the State Capitol, Governor’s Mansion, and the Old State Capitol.
In an exciting twist, the Parade began in the large parking lot of the new Chabad location, that we obtained right before Chanukah. The culmination was on a property that was donated to Chabad of Springfield a year ago, where the cars parked and everyone participated in the lighting of the large Menorah.
Being that this was a very Covid friendly Chanukah event, the reactions from the participants were unbelievable, with everyone saying how this must become an annual tradition in Springfield.
A special Thank You to the Springfield Police Department for helping make sure the parade ran smoothly.
